Pet ID QR codes,
explained.

What the code does when someone scans it, where it works best, and how to get a clean print.

What is a Pet ID QR code?

A Pet ID QR code goes on your pet's collar tag. Anyone who finds your pet scans it with a phone camera and lands on a page with the pet's name and photo, your phone number, a WhatsApp or email button and any notes you add, such as allergies or medication.

Why use a QR tag

  • More room than an engraved tag: photos, several contacts and health notes
  • Always up to date: moved house or changed number? Edit the page, keep the tag
  • Works with any phone: no app needed to scan it
  • See where it was scanned: scan statistics show when and where the tag was read

How to make one

  1. Pick Pet ID as the QR code type
  2. Add your pet's details and your contact information
  3. Style the code and download it
  4. Print it on a tag, sticker or collar plate

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before getting started.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static QR code encodes your destination directly into the pattern — once printed, it cannot be changed. A dynamic QR code stores a short redirect URL, so you can update the destination, swap content, or run A/B tests at any time without reprinting.

Can I edit the QR code destination after it has been printed?

Yes. With dynamic QR codes you can change where the code points at any time from your dashboard. The printed code stays exactly the same — only the destination changes.

What types of content can a QR code link to?

Far more than just a website URL. QuickCode supports digital business cards, restaurant menus, product pages, booking forms, lead capture forms, app download pages, PDF files, image galleries, and more — all from a single QR code.

How do I track scans and analytics?

Every dynamic QR code comes with built-in analytics. You can see total scans, unique visitors, scan locations by country and city, device types, and time-of-day trends — all from a single dashboard.

Is there a limit on the number of scans?

Scan limits depend on your plan. Our free tier includes a generous allowance for getting started, while paid plans scale up to unlimited scans. You can view the exact limits for each plan in the pricing table above.

Can I use my own domain for the redirect links?

Yes. You can connect your own custom domain so that the short redirect URL in the QR code reflects your brand rather than a generic domain. This is available on paid plans.

Do I need design skills to customise the QR code appearance?

No. The built-in editor lets you change colours, shapes, add a logo, and choose from hundreds of styles without any design experience. You can also export in high-resolution formats ready for print.
